I
make the Side Saddle to the measurements of both the Rider and
the Horse to be sure of a good and comfortable fit. Customers
can select from a range of leather colours. |

The
modern Side Saddle for today's riding has a very flat seat enabling
the rider to sit straight and tall which allows even distribution
of the weight from front to back. |

The panel is covered with traditional
white wool material and packed with wool flocking that can
be adjusted to suit the contour of the horse’s back.

I import my Side Saddle trees from England as they are of good quality and well balanced, fitting a wide range of horses. They come with two position adjustments for the leaping horn and a Mayhew breakaway stirrup fitting. I also import Dressage trees also from England which are a spring tree.

I would like to encourage you to
learn as much as you can about the different
types and brands of Side Saddles before rushing off to buy the first
one that
comes up for sale. It is also advisable that you have a lesson in
a Side Saddle
first to see if you like it.
I do not recommend that you buy an old Side Saddle with a dip seat as they tend to sit uphill on the horse, putting pressure on the loins due to the riders weight being distributed more towards the rear of the saddle, this can quickly give the horse a sore back.
